I had a chat with an Ava 3.0 power user last week. He told me that Ava 3.0 was their practice’s Swiss Army Knife. He must have known that I own a Swiss Army Knife, purchased when I was barely a teenager. I smiled from ear to ear!
The metaphor of the Swiss Army Knife, being equated to our beloved Ava 3.0 was brilliant.
We immediately engaged in a discussion that analogously applied feature sets of my childhood model of the knife to Ava 3.0, our latest version of the “Automated Virtual Assistant.” I ask the reader of this to consider the magical comparisons. Prior to my attempt to give you the imagery of the similarities, let me share a childhood memory.
I grew up in New Jersey. At age 11 my parents enrolled me into a Boy Scout of America troop. Our Scoutmaster had a Swiss Army Knife! My admiration of this knife, as well as my leader, led me to learn some of the knife's history. I quickly learned that there were many models, each with different functions. For me, I just had to have the Victorinox Swisschamp, consisting of 8 layers and 33 functions. After all, my Scoutmaster was the coolest human being on the planet – and I wanted to be cool like him!
A little history of Dentma before we dive into some comparisons: We now tell orthodontic practices every day that “Ava grew up!” Ava 3.0 is the Victorinox Swisschamp of knives for orthodontic practices! She came out of BETA in November of last year (2019) with about 60 offices that participated on some level of testing.
Her predecessor, Ava 2.0 still has hundreds of Orthodontic practices in four countries using this slimmer version (so to speak). Fact is, Ava 2.0 has blessed hundreds of offices with only her prominent “2 blades feature set” for over five years. Think of Ava 3.0 as the knife with 8 layers and 33 functions!
The “blades” of Ava 2.0 include patient follow-up (an absolute sharp-beyond-belief, stainless steel main feature); and, the famous Swiss Army Knife’s toothpick that we call The Legacy Blast Tool. This “toothpick” tool reaches out to uncommitted patients, hidden in the cracks of the practices Practice Management Systems and engages them for that new and perfect smile. While it is not the stainless steel blade of patient follow-up, the Legacy Blast is WILDLY effective – averaging over $20,000 of new starts in the first 90 days after the first use.
In January 2010, Victorinox announced the Presentation Master Models of Swiss Army knives. Go figure, we now have another analogy more befitting of our state-of-the-art development schedule with Ava. The Presentation Master models include a laser pointer, and detachable flash drive with fingerprint reader. Their Slim Jetsetter series in this feature set release comes with biometric fingerprint technology, laser pointers, LED lights, Bluetooth remote control and of course, the original Swiss Army Knife implements – blade, scissors, nail file, screwdriver, key ring and ballpoint pen are standard.
The comparison: Ava 3.0 comes with all the original Swiss Army Knife implements of Ava 2.0, and adds Virtual Consultations, Appointment Reminders, Case Presentation, New Patient Tracking, Medical Form Submissions, Surveys, Insurance Verification Checks, Internal Marketing, New Lead Generation tools, Custom Sequence Builder, Online Scheduling, Email and Texting Library, Ava University, Ava4Ava Online Chat-style Training, Patient Look up, Robust Communication Portal, MMS Texting, … truly Ava is the modern day all-in-one Swiss Army Knife for Orthodontics. Every feature is aimed at saving time and making the owners of the practice a boatload of added revenue.
May I encourage your practice TCs, Office Manager, and each doctor themselves to set up a demo at www.dentma.com/demo and I’ll drive the comparisons to my coveted childhood Victorinox Swisschamp knife. That simple red knife that was put in my pocket nearly every morning during those formative years became a constant reminder to sharpen my skills, and so much more. Constantly sharpening Ava’s skills has become the standard driving motivation of our remarkable team of developers at Dentma.
